With a retail price of $200, the Versa is much easier to justify for long-time Fitbit users as well as those interested in a smartwatch that won’t break the bank. It excels at fitness tracking, and the battery life is fantastic. The Versa is also one of the most comfortable smartwatches I’ve worn. Fitbit has done a surprisingly good job of getting developers to make things for its watches as well. However, performance is still middling, and the software can be sluggish at times.
As I always say, photometric scores only tell you part of the story. Just because a light scores well doesn’t necessarily mean the light will look good. So do the scores from the EverTrue Vari-Color 3×1translate into real-world performance? In the example footage that is above, I just wanted to primarily see how the fixture looked when it came to skin tones and how soft the light being produced was. The EverTrue Vari-Color 3×1 was used as the key light with the F&V S4000 1×1 being used as the backlight.
Speaking of the tripod stand, once you put the Crane 3 lab down, the only way to pick it up easily and safely is by the rear handle.
The system analyzes light thatâs reflected off matte surfaces, such as walls, to discern out-of-sight images, similar to the way a periscope mirror reveals whatâs around a corner. Whereas other techniques for spotting out-of-sight objects require expensive, specialist optical equipment (SN: 1/9/16, p. 15), the new program can render a rough, full-color reconstruction of a hidden scene using a single snapshot captured with an ordinary digital camera.
The outdoor-viewable 7-inch resistive touch screen display is large enough for real work and offers netbook-class 1024 x 600 pixel resolution. The screen is very bright and crisp, resistant to smudges and fingerprints, and very effectively controls glare and reflections. We’d like to see a wider vertical viewing angle and a dual-input option, either resistive/electromagnetic, or electromagnetic/capacitive.
It has to be said that the quality of the camera’s eye level electronic viewfinder is stunningly life-like from the second iteration onward, where it increased from 1,440k dots to 2,359K dots.
Things fall apart indoors and with poor lighting, as expected. Well lit indoors aren’t that much of an issue, but ultra-wide shots taken outdoors without sufficient lighting have a lot of noise, often rendering the images useless. On the flip side, if there are too many light sources in a scene, things tend to get overblown. And you can’t prevent that, since there’s no autofocus on the ultra-wide camera and therefore no option to manually adjust the exposure.
Make sure you shop around though to get the best deal, to make purchase of this consistently expensive camera less prohibitive than it might otherwise be.
The Vivo X21 features an always-on display that looks pretty similar to Samsung’s implementation. It even offers a Side Clock version, though the X21 doesn’t have the curved edges of Samsung’s flagships. You can customize the color and background of the always-on clock, but you can only opt to see notifications for missed calls and messages, not emails, or other types of notifications, which is a shame.
Launched back in 2017 with the release of the 32UK950 32-inch UHD 4K display, this isn’t the first outing for Nano IPS. LG notes that Nano IPS involves an application of nanometer-sized particles to the screen’s LED to absorb excess light wavelengths. The result, according to LG, is greater intensity and purity for on screen colors. It also results in its display donning VESA-certified DisplayHDR 600 compliant badge for enhanced High Dynamic Range support.
The most difficult part will be transmission: getting this modicum of 8K content to your home. There is currently no standardized way to get 8K content to your shiny 8K TV. Presumably, as more content becomes available, a special app within the TV will get you access to this high-res media. This is likely what Samsung will have to do for you to be able to see anything in 8K on its 8K TVs.
I read option K as being to add another MCU for the express purpose of reading switches. That would be expensive. But changing to an MCU with a few more pins (e.g. 48 pin instead of 32) would probably be cheaper than adding a shift register.
